Funded in July 2005 under the Australian Research Council Centres of Excellence program this prestigious research centre is headquartered at James Cook University, in Townsville. The Centre is a partnership of James Cook University (JCU), the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS), The Australian National University (ANU), the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA), The University of Queensland (UQ) and the University of Western Australia (UWA).

At Perth College, students are provided with a Personal Learning Device (PLD) granting them access to significant learning technologies. The PLD is considered to be the student's mobile classroom. The Graduate Environmental Program (GEP) is an innovative postgraduate course offered at the University of Melbourne, Australia. We offer a Postgraduate Certificate in Environment, a Postgraduate Diploma in Environment, and the Master of Environment (M.Env) degree (1-year or 2-year), which is generally taken over one or two years, although study is available full and part time. Students are free to design their own course with our assistance, or to pursue a number of specialist fields of study in everything from international development to energy efficiency.

Australia’s largest teaching, research and development department dedicated to forests, forest products and forested landscapes, the Department of Forest and Ecosystem Science (DFES) comprises more than 50 scientists working from the molecular to the ecosystem level.
In 1910 demand for locally trained experts with an understanding of Australian conditions shaped the development of a school of forest studies at Creswick. Over the past century, issues covered by forest and ecosystem sciences have evolved and are still at the forefront of public debate and societal relevance.
Longneck Lagoon Environmental Education Centre is located in Scheyville National Park, 12km north of Windsor. The National Park comprises 952 hectares of remnant Cumberland Plain Woodland including a 17 hectare freshwater lagoon. There are three endangered species of flora and over 160 species of birds recorded in the National Park making it a significant conservation area for flora and fauna in the Sydney basin.
Facilities at the centre include an office, classroom, a kitchen equipped for camp catering, staff and student toilets and showers, a camping area and low ropes elements.
