Irrawang High School is committed to a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum rivalling the best that other schools can offer in specialised areas such as sport, performing arts and technology, whilst continuing to offer the best features of a local comprehensive high school. Teachers and support staff, professional development and resources are all geared towards providing a balanced and challenging educational experience. We offer education for school-age and mature age or re-entry students. The school was established in 1983 and attracts students primarily from the two schools in Medowie, Medowie Primary and Wirreanda Primary, and from Irrawang and Grahamstown Primary in Raymond Terrace. In detail we aim to: Provide all students with a balanced, general education; provide students with the opportunity to extend their education in order to prepare more thoroughly for the world of work, for higher education and for citizenship; know and care for students as individuals, endeavouring to develop in them self respect, self confidence, a sense of their individuality and a sense of belonging; develop all students' aptitudes, abilities and interests to the maximum; foster within our school equal opportunity and esteem for all; and develop a sense of personal and social responsibility in all students towards themselves and to others.
