My wife and I made a booking for 2 night at Halen’s house from July 31st till August 2nd to attend a funeral on the 1st of August.
It was very hard to find the location of Halen’s house, we drove twice around the block and had to park the car very far on a side road and walk with the luggage on the footpath till we arrive there.
No one was home, I had to call the owner who requested me to fax a photo of my licence to identify me, not so easy to do when you are standing in front of a door and under the rain, I took a photo of my Licence and sent it by SMS to his mobile
I received a 5-digit code to use to open the front door, My wife and I tried maybe 12 times but could not opened the door, we called the owner several time between trying, he told us to key the Code Quickly and try again ,eventually after many attempt we managed to open the door, we got very worried because at night it will be more difficult and maybe we will not be able to open this door in the dark, also we noted that the bathroom and shower are upstairs only one single toilet downstair, this we were not advised.
So, we decided not to check in and to look a better place to stay.
This was a very stressful experience, the service from the owner was very poor, unable to help, no one home to talk too, when I advise him that I was not going to stay these he rudely told me, suite your self you are not going to get your money back.
I am writing this email to make you aware for other people who may get the same treatment we got.
